About Bo Ryan

Sterling Athletics is forever grateful to have Coach Bo Ryan as part of the Sterling Family. Before Coach Ryan became an endorser of the Sterling brand, he was a loyal customer ordering camp basketballs and apparel as head coach at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. In 1997, Sterling Athletics and Coach Ryan started their strategic alliance with the ultimate goal of offering the highest quality and technologically advanced basketballs in the sporting goods industry.

Coach Ryan has been extraordinarily loyal and passionate about Sterling Athletics over the years and refuses to allow his team to play with any basketballs that do not have the Sterling logo. For Wisconsin home basketball games, Coach Ryan and his team play with the Sterling Status Comp game basketball. Coincidentally enough, in Coach Ryan’s nine seasons, the Kohl Center has become one of the toughest places to play in America. The Badgers have compiled a 166-15 (.917) home record under Coach Ryan, including a 69-6 (.925) mark in Big Ten games. Over the last nine seasons, that is the fifth best overall home record in the country!
